The Chuncheon Regional Government Complex is the first regional government office built in accordance with the Regional Government Complex Project led by the central government. In 2000, a detailed plan was established for the construction with the aim of improving the efficiency of administration by gathering the local offices and administrative agencies scattered in the Gangwon area while improving the utilization of state-owned real estate using the former Chuncheon National Forest Management Office district as the site. Construction was commenced in November 2001 and was completed in December 2003.
It features separate zones by responsibility to improve work efficiency and realize an economical layout through modular construction using spans and partitions.
It implemented energy-saving measures of using geothermal energy instead of gas on its cooling and heating system
It features the thoughtful arrangement of facilities and various trees connecting with the surrounding environment and creates a seasonal atmosphere.
